Friends of Palestine Charity Organisation Friends of Palestine Annual Report 2024

Trustees

Friends of Palestine Charity Organisation was established in early 2015 in support of Palestinian people in Scotland and internationally.

Our main aims are to prevent and relieve poverty and protect the vulnerable through humanitarian intervention, advance sustainable development as well as promoting human rights, equality and diversity.

FoP was established to help Palestinians in need by providing shelter for homeless families, food and medicines for low income people, education fees for students who can’t afford them, and trying to provide training and employment projects to help with rising unemployment among new graduates and young people. Most of these initiatives are based in Gaza district which has suffered especially over the last 16 years of siege imposed on them by the occupation.

During the past year FoP has made significant progress in Gaza Distract in occupied Palestine despite the horrific genocide and ethnic glancing of the Palestinian people in Palestine, our weekly charitable stall has raise an excellent financial support and awareness of humanitarian issues in Palestine despite our absent for some time, helping Palestinian in Egypt, south Africa and the UK, as well using social media for publicity and to reach out to sympathizers with Palestinian human rights, as well as advertising through online fundraising to help finance our projects. During the 12 months of the occupation attack on Gaza District FoP has faced a hard time in dealing with reaching the food, clean water and tents to the Palestinian people in Gaza Distract, despite all the difficulties we managed to provide clean drinking water, health meal to many camps, and in the destroyed UN schools were shelters been provided to people.

This past year FoP has made excellent achievements in relation to the size of the charity. We financed in helping many families, children casualty to be treated in Egyptian hospitals. We have provided food and drink and shutters - tents to hundreds of thousands refugees. More than 10000 Food Parcels were delivered to families in need all over Gaza District each month, as well as readymade meal.

The food parcels and financial help we have provided has given tremendous relief to families who were in desperate need during the occupation attack and that’s still not enough. The houses which were built during the last two years before the attack on Gaza now all has been destroyed by the Occupation forces it used to provides secure shelter and accommodation for more than 500 people now most of it destroyed. Despite all the work we have carried on still nothing with what needed in Gaza with the current situation.
