Cllnlcal Fellow was appointed in May 2016 to begin WOTk on what is1ikely to be a 34 year research project. The clinical team is working closely with the Charity, and with the Royal Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow which is responsible for lung retrieval for use in the EVLP research project. In addition, the chari su¢)ports the work of the Edinburgh Lung Repair | Initiative run b and his team 31 Edinburgh University. APPENDIX 1 Achlevements and performance Summary of the maln achlevements of The Charity has contributed lo the formation and establishment of a wodd the charity durlng the financlal perlod class Cystic Fibrosis lung repair programme in Edinburgh, building on existing strengths in translational CF research, regenerative medicine and I cell therapy al the University of Edinburgh. The Charity has committed to the funding of one PhD student for three years and associated I consumable costs. The Charity continued to support the work of our medical Fellow in 2018 and the work on the Ex-wivo Lung Perfusion Project at the Queen, Medical Research Institute in Edinburgh. The Charity continued lo support of the Edinburgh Lung Repair Initiative at Edinburgh University and funded the appointed Warren's Wish clinical research fellow. Financial review Brief statement of the ¢harlty's pollcy on reserves Although no form81 policy on reserves has been developed, the Charity is aware that fund5 must be retained to continue to support the EVLP and Lung Repair projects, and further fundraising activities will augment these reserves. Current reserves are at £28,429. The Iruslees consider this to be free reserves that will be ulilised in future periods. APPENDIX 1 other optional information Warren's Wish had made good progress in funding the first Ex-vlvo Lung Perfusion IEVLPI facilty in Scotland, which will serve the UK and will link in with the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, who will use suc¢e5sfully perfused donor lungs in future transplantations. The trustees have considered the future of the charity and plan to wind it down over the next year, once outstanding creditors are paid they will donate the remainder of funds to Edinburgh University to continue to fund their current research project IEVLPI.
