ORIECTIVES AND ACTIVITtES Objeetives and aims Scottish Women in Sport was launched at the end of 2013, with the aim of educating young girls on positive life choices, breaking down media stereotypes, cffating a slrong voicc to lobby and roise awareness. highlight positive role modclg, influence decision makers and encourdge increased Commela1 investm¢nt into all sports that include women. We are a team comprised of rqThentatives from sporting governing bodi¢s, the media, MSPS, education. busin¢ss and many other sectors. ACHIEVEMENf AND PERFORMANCE Charitable ictivities ACTIVITIES ALISS M McGonigle delivered an online presentation to ALISS - a national digital programme enabling people and pmfessionais to find and share infornialion on he<h and wellbeing rcsources, services, grnups, and support in their local communitie5 and online. IWD 2024 This year's theme was #lnspireinclusion. Wc worked with three leaders from diverse backgrounds to create a blog, which was sharcd across all our social channels, highlighling their journey to leadetship. CRICKET SCOTLAND EDI PROJEC[ In partnership with Cricket Scotland who advised that the cricketing landscape required to bc more inclusive and welcoming dlded to create a 'guide' to ensure that ihe languagc used, verbal or written, had a clear message that values diversity and respect individual differences. The guide will encompass hints and tips that are useful for understanding and communicating with Scotland's diverse ¢ommunities. We were delighted to submit inforniation of gcnder quality and also our logo for use in the guides. PRESEIYTATION TO SPORTSCOTLALYD BOARD Sportscotland ¢xt¢nd¢d an invitation to Maureen McGonigle to attend their ts)ard meeting at Inv¢rclyde in April and deliver a short presentation. This was followed by an in depth presentation from Lisa Oxeefe. Gen¢ral Secretary of IWG, with a Q&A at the end. The event was attcnded by Srt$cOtIalld board members and senior staff as well as 2 Fit For Girls tutor. MEETING OF 4 NATIONS GROUP. In Junc M MoGonigle travelled to Manchester for the inaugurdl meeting of the four nalions WIS group along with WIS. NIW Forum and WWIS. Feedback was extremely positive with some good recommendation made fortaking this pmgramme fithher. ANNUAL AWARDS 2024- Frlday 24th November, Radisson Bkn Hotel, GIAsgow. A glittering occasion hosted by Alison Walker and supported by H¢aih¢r Dewar where wc presented out len awards and added a new award - Maureen McGonigle Inspiring Leader in Sport. The first-lim¢ winner of this award, which was chosen by Maure¢n McGonigle was Maggie Still of Scottish Squash. FtNANCIAL REVIEW Financial position The charity generated a sutplus of £2.677 (2023 - £3.419 deficit) for the year. As of 31 De¢¢mbcr 2024 we had £nil (2023-£4,596) in restricted funds and £21.408 {2023- £18.371) in unrestricted funLts. Reserves Policy The cbarity has considered the rescrv¢s required and have taken into account their current and fvture liabilities. The trusttts aim to maintsin free reserves in unrestricted funds at a level which equates to approximately three months of unrestricted charitable expenditure. The trustees consider that thÉs level will provide sufficient funds and cnsure that support and governance costs are covered. FUTURE PLANS Our aim is to continue lo strengthen th¢ organisation in several ways for 2025. We will activcly seek Corporate partners to enable us to deliver our message and it is our inlentson to grow our two main events. Thc SWIS Awards and the SWIS conference. We will at ways to support those NGB'S who wish to incrcase their gender balan¢¢ in all areas of sport and look to access grant funding to deliver some new events.
