We were set up to encourage sustainable development, relieve poverty, advance education, preserve buildings, support recreational activities, protect the environment, and improve connectivity. We have a community action plan, and are tackling our community's priorities in line with our aims and objectives. this year we have renewed a play park, distributed firewood, held soup and sandwich lunches and litter picked. Also planning to acquire land for a park and affordable housing.
Objectives: 5 The Organisation’s main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The Organisation’s purposes are 5.1 support rural regeneration following the principles of sustainable development, where ‘sustainable development’ means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, within the communities of Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry. 5.2 Encourage the relief of poverty in such ways as may be thought fit. 5.3 Encourage the advancement of education, training, retraining, particularly amongst unemployed people. 5.4 Promote the preservation of buildings or sites of historic or architectural importance. 5.5 Support the provision of recreational facilities. 5.6 Encourage the protection or conservation of the environment.
