Achievements and performance

well supported by locals, people from thewider community and visitors to
the area. There are 21 volunteers, 7 ofwhom are Trustees.
Abroad range of items aregenerously donated to the shop. Stock is
rotated regularly and there is always something different for
customers to
buy.We offera low costway ofbuying clothing, books, footwearandan
extensive array of exciting miscellaneous items. The shop entrance and
shop floor is accessible to all.
We try our best to recycle asmuchas possible and sometimes pass
unsold goods on toother charity shops in larger, nearby towns. Items of
value oftengo to specialist shops, local antique dealers and auctions,
where theyearnmoremoney thanwould be collected in the shop.
Likemany charity shops, there are certain itemswe cannot ac eptfor
safety, hygiene and legal reasons. Wecan only acceptgoods that are
clean and fit forpurpose to ensure that they are in the best co dition for
their next owner.
The shop profitsgo back into thecommunitythrough our Grant scheme.
We have two grant allocations in the year— inJune and in Detember.
Volunteer opportunities are available to anyone from 16yrs to
very old —
there isno upperage limit-wages being a chocolate biscuit
and acup of
tealWe have a Volunteer Outing during December, often to s€e a local
pantomime andtohave supper. There are regularVolunteer
Meetingsand
Trustee Meetings held throughout the year.
The shop is not only aboutbuying and donating. Weaim to offera safe,
friendly andwarm space, whereeveryone iswelcomefora chatanda bit
ofcompany, andon occasionsa cup oftea or coffee. Voluntet€rs give a
friendlywelcome to familiar and newfaces alike.
