Objectives: The SCIO’s purposes are to assist Beneficiaries (as defined in clause 111 below), who are in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, by means of grants, information, advice and support and / or the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for Beneficiaries and their families, for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, or otherwise. all by taking over and assuming the whole assets and liabilities and generally the whole undertaking of the charity know as the “Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Family support Trust”, charity number SC024296, (“the Previous Charity”) with a view to managing, discharging and generally dealing with the same in furtherance of the SCIO’s purposes thereafter and over a transitional period offering assistance initially to Beneficiaries that were also beneficiaries of the Previous Charity and expanding over time to offer assistance to the wider group of Beneficiaries.
