Routes To Work South help to alleviate poverty among people in most disadvantaged communities in South Lanarkshire by engaging, supporting and encouraging them to develop their skills, gain recognised qualifications and progress into sustainable employment. It does this through the provision of information, advice, guidance, training and counselling on range of employability matters on one-to-one basis with clients. The company helps to support South Lanarkshire’s Child Poverty Action Plan by providing person centred support to parents and carers to overcome barriers to employment. The company supports local employers’ business growth by engaging with employers and providing recruitment support, pre-employment training for new employees, financial incentive and a follow-up aftercare service. The company works in partnership with a wide range of agencies and organisations to provide complementary services supporting South Lanarkshire Council’s Employability Strategies.
