All trustees are volunteer parents of pupils attending Royal School of Dunkeld. No trustee received any remuneration or benefit from the charity during the year.
3. Charitable Purposes and Objects
The purposes of the PPG, as set out in the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 and the charity's constitution, are to advance education by:

Working in partnership with those managing and working in the school to raise standards of education, support improvements in quality of education, and develop the personality, talents and abilities of pupils to their fullest potential

Supporting positive mental health, wellbeing and resilience of all pupils and families

Supporting a welcoming school community which is supportive and inclusive for all parents, pupils and staff

Promoting partnership between the community, the school, its pupils and all parents

4. Activities, Achievements and Performance
During the year ended 31 August 2025 the PPG carried out a wide range of activities in support of its charitable purposes. Key activities included:
Lego Club
The PPG established and ran a Lego Club for pupils, funded by two grants totalling £9,387: £1,290 from Pitlochry received in October 2024 and £8,097 from Perth & Kinross Council received in January 2025. The club provided structured brick-building sessions facilitated by trained volunteers, supporting creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Training was provided to six volunteer facilitators, and Birnam Arts provided venue support throughout the year.
Skydive Fundraiser and Secret Garden Project
A sponsored skydive fundraiser raised £3,356.57 during the year through JustGiving, cash collections and a pub quiz. A donation of £2,075 was made to Clic Sargent cancer charity. The remaining balance of £3,320 is held as a restricted fund for the Secret Garden project at the school.
Events and Fundraising
The PPG organised and delivered a full programme of community events during the year, including a Highland Games stall, Halloween disco, Santa Day, Christmas Fayre, calendar fundraiser, pub quiz, Mini Marathon, and Sports Day. These events raised funds for school activities and helped build community among families, pupils and staff. The annual calendar fundraiser, supported by local businesses and sponsors across Dunkeld and Birnam, raised £2,295 in income against print costs of £714.

The PPG funded a range of direct pupil benefits during the year, including:

P7 leavers' gifts and activities, including a day out and leavers' disco

A donation of £200 to Dunkeld Parish Church for heating costs
Additional Support Needs
The PPG maintained dedicated peer support for parents and carers of children with additional support needs through its ASN representatives, providing a point of contact and advocacy within the school community.
5. Financial Review
The accounts for the year ended 31 August 2025 are prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).

The PKC Community Projects CIF grant of £6,011.76 is held as a restricted fund for approved community projects and remained unspent at the year end. The Skydive / Secret Garden restricted fund of £3,320 is held for the Secret Garden project. A working buffer of £1,500 is maintained as a designated reserve within unrestricted funds by trustee resolution to ensure operational continuity.
The trustees consider the charity's financial position to be satisfactory. Unrestricted funds at the year end of £4,856.16 are sufficient to meet the charity's short-term operational needs.

6. Reserves Policy
The trustees maintain a working buffer of £1,500 as a designated reserve within unrestricted funds to ensure that day-to-day operational costs can be met without disruption. The trustees review the adequacy of this buffer annually. All other funds are applied to charitable activities as promptly as practicable following receipt, consistent with the purposes for which they are held.
7. Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is an unincorporated association governed by its constitution adopted on 18 March 2013. Trustees are volunteer parents elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Parent Forum. New trustees are recruited as vacancies arise and are welcomed and briefed by existing committee members.
The PPG meets regularly throughout the school year. Decisions are taken collectively by the trustees. The Annual General Meeting is open to all parents and carers of pupils at Royal School of Dunkeld.
8. Trustees' Statement of Responsibilities
The charity trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the accounts in accordance with applicable law and the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
