Christmas day A seTr'ice was held in the church Baptism5 and Weddings -The Church is made available, for those who ￿'ish their baptism and wedding lo take place in the conteKt of a Christian Service Eeumenical: Churches Together - One of ihe members of our 4qinisiry ieam is a membei of the Enabling Group of Churches Together in England and is the ecumenical representaiive for the Presb}:tery of England and Channel 151ands. Four different denominations have used our church for worship. and oiher activities throughout the year. Members of ihe congregaiion have attended Easter and Christmas towm centre open air services. These services are organised by local Christian churches. Members of the Ministr), Team ha￿'e taken part in these services. Pa5torAI: The pastoral team look after members of the congregation. by personal visits, cards and delivery of flowers. lission: World Mission. CoEby, Church of Scotland supports World Ilission. Staixps are collecied regiulail!. Ekivendeni Hospital, Malawi continues lo be supported by monthly retiring collection5. The work of Christian Aid is supported by specific collections, during Ila). and ai Christmas tirne, and the congregation support ad hoc appeals, with retiring collections. Food Bank.. Corbv. Church of Scotland supports the local F(M)dbank by making donations of food and money. praser and ￿olUnteerIng personnel. Monies donated through iheir buck-et and retiring collections totalled £71 $ 44. Schools. IVork- wilh the two local Schools, B¢anfield PrimaTr School. and Red Kite Special Academy continues. Both schwls support Ilessy Church. by the distribution of leaflets lo their pupils. The Associate minister work-s with Red Kite school as its Chaplain. NqessN' Church. This mission infv'oli'es. not only church members. bul also K'olunteer5 from the community. There are twenty- fil'e i'olunteers and usually ten volunieers join us each month. There is also a dedicated prayer team. During 20?4. there were nine sessions. and we had fifty one families come ihrough our doors. a total of sixty adults and one hundred and eight children. Shoe Box Appeal. This year ihe show boxes were going to Mi alawi. in Souih Africa. seN'enty-nine shoe boxes were piepared by members of the church and their friends. The Sunday before the boxes were taken to the collection centre they formed an integral part of the service. The Aftemoon Tea and c.ake, which slarted in 2023 has grown in strength over the last twelve months and is 'ell supported by members of the community and congregation.
