Members of Ihe Kirk Session are the charity tnjstees. The Kirk Se55ion members are the elders of the church
and are chosen from those members of the church ￿'hO are considered to ha￿.¢ the appropriate gifts and
skills. The Interim Nloderaior, who is a member of the Kirk Session. is appoinied b J. Presbyierv io fulfil the
duties of the Nlinister during a i'acancj. in March 20?3 and further FTE Nlinister of 11.'ord and Sacrament
was allocated io the Church of Scoiland commencing 4 January.

The Kirk Sesston. which meets at least eighi times a year is ihe Governing Bod) certain responsibilities are

The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine. refornied in tradition and Presbyterian in polity. It exists
to glorify God and 10 work for the advancement of Christ's Kinodom throughoui ihe world. As a national
Church. il ack-nowledges a distinctl￿e call and dull, to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every
patish of Scotland through a terriiorial ministry It c(Foperdtes Viith other Churches in various ecumenical
bodies in Scoiland and beyond.
Corby, Church of Scotland reiained the Inierim Moderator appointed by the Presbjtery of England and
Channel Islands, and the FTE Nlinister of Ivord and Sacrameni thai was appotnled. The team continued
working with the Auxiliars. Ilinister and Reader.
Corby, Church of Scotland holds family worship at 10 am on Sunday5 and prayer serK'ices every day except
Sundays.
Baplisms and the Blessing of children are celebrated as part of the regular SundaN' Service.
In addition 10 Ii'eddings. Corby. Church of Scotland also conducis funerals both ai the Church and at local
rematorium for niembers of the Church and the community.
Corby. Church of Scotland has a Sal-e Guarding Policy which is kepl up to date through a designaied Safe
Guarding Coordinator and committee.

young mums. based in the centre of Corbv and made up of thirteen suptK)rted accommodations of flats. The
tinned fo(xl was donated to the C.OTby F¢x)d Bank. The retiring collection was given to Corby Food Bank.

erected by the Beanfield's Residents Association. Our Scouis Groups, and two of the denorninations who
regularly use our church.

Eeumenical:
Churches Together - One of ihe members of our 4qinisiry ieam is a membei of the Enabling Group of
Churches Together in England and is the ecumenical representaiive for the Presb}:tery of England and
Channel 151ands.
Four different denominations have used our church for worship. and oiher activities throughout the year.
Members of ihe congregaiion have attended Easter and Christmas towm centre open air services. These
services are organised by local Christian churches. Members of the Ministr), Team ha￿'e taken part in these
services.

The pastoral team look after members of the congregation. by personal visits, cards and delivery of flowers.

World Mission. CoEby, Church of Scotland supports World Ilission. Staixps are collecied
regiulail!. Ekivendeni Hospital, Malawi continues lo be supported by monthly retiring collection5. The
work of Christian Aid is supported by specific collections, during Ila). and ai Christmas tirne, and the
congregation support ad hoc appeals, with retiring collections.
Food Bank.. Corbv. Church of Scotland supports the local F(M)dbank by making donations of food
and money. praser and ￿olUnteerIng personnel. Monies donated through iheir buck-et and retiring collections
totalled £71 $ 44.
Schools. IVork- wilh the two local Schools, B¢anfield PrimaTr School. and Red Kite Special Academy
continues. Both schwls support Ilessy Church. by the distribution of leaflets lo their pupils. The Associate
minister work-s with Red Kite school as its Chaplain.
NqessN' Church. This mission infv'oli'es. not only church members. bul also K'olunteer5 from the community.
There are twenty- fil'e i'olunteers and usually ten volunieers join us each month. There is also a dedicated
prayer team. During 20?4. there were nine sessions. and we had fifty one families come ihrough our doors. a
total of sixty adults and one hundred and eight children.
Shoe Box Appeal. This year ihe show boxes were going to Mi alawi. in Souih Africa. seN'enty-nine shoe
boxes were piepared by members of the church and their friends. The Sunday before the boxes were taken
to the collection centre they formed an integral part of the service.
The Aftemoon Tea and c.ake, which slarted in 2023 has grown in strength over the last twelve months and is
'ell supported by members of the community and congregation.
Corby Highland Gathering: The .4ssociate min]￿er proposed that Corbs, Church of Scotland had a
represeniation ai the Corbj. Highland Gathering. a twowda)" th'enl to promote ihe ne￿ Corby. Church of
Scotland. The church applied for a grant for this project from the Church of Scoiland Seeds for Growth for
1,000 which ivas approN'ed. The eN'ent ivas oker two days, il included free refreshments, based on a mock
cock-tail called "the buminq bush" an area for Mess!, Church. prayer and felloi¥."ship. GiN'eawa5's included
New Testament5, religious liierature based on ei'eryday life, and a special booklet relating to the life and

work of Eric Liddle. Each day had a ditTerent section ofthe community attending Saturday was local
people" Sunda). ￿'aS local and N'isitors from all oi'er England. There was good engagemenl with attendees
during the ￿.eek-end. including Christian and non-christian discussions.
Hall Lets - Corbv Church of Scotland as part of their mission allo￿.5 free use of the halls. This includes a
weekly Cotyee morning by a group called Care and Share, Home Ed-Perforniing Ans
Union:
Under the Presbytery Mission plan, it has taken over twelve months from the Llnion to the sale of the St
Andre￿ s site. An area consisting of a church and ha]1 The Church of St Andrews was closed immediately,
in March 2023. but the hall was allow.ed to be used until the sale of ihe building The exchange of contracts
for this sile did noi take place uniil ihe 5, December 20?4. The Si Andre￿'S manse is still under a rental
contract which H'as aoreed before the Union in Alaich 2023. All relek'ani records hai'e been sent lo the
Church of Scoiland. Llnwanted items. thal were saleable went to auction. and some memoiabilia went to
Corbv Heritage Centre. and other items have been integrated into the new Corby Church of Scotland.

Weekly notices are play'ed before and after ihe seTh'ice on the A VC screens giving details of forthcoming
events. meetinos and financial update.

Although an aged congregation, Corby, Church of Scotland continues lo be supportiN'e and generous in the
giving of their time, talent, money and prayers, and enjoys fellowship with one another. and wiihin the
community.
The average attendance for general services over the year has been fony. an average of thiity-four
watching N'ia You-Tube. The attendance for communion seThices was forty<ight.
Financial Review.:
The template which is Supplied b), the Church of Scoiland has changed and }-ou may. notice a slightly
differeni format from the Ihat previouslv used for ihe pieparaiion of Receipts and Payments.

Analysis of Other income.
The inforniation here has b¢en transferrvj from the Rff¢ipis and Payments Section of the ac¢wnts
The income from hall and sanctuary lets increased by £3127 on the previous year, however this includes
£301Y) from the rent of St Andr￿f,8 Hall I￿, s which ceased in September.
Income increased from funerals due io the number undertaken by mernbers of the Ministry team.
Further income came from sales of i$s¢ts. a grant frotn Seeds of GroMtl4 aAd insurance rebat¢.
Expendlture:
Thts year we reduced our deficit by £5.686. G85 and electricity bi119 have been cthsiderably higher in 2024
due to the end of contracts and the hi8hei renewal char8es. The higher insurAnce wst for the empty propety
of St Andrew, s church was otTset by the rental of their mans¢.
Giving to GTOW for 2025 is based on the new formulae. L',nd¢r the new 5ysiem. our 8ivAn8 to grow f(K 2025
is £40.800. However. we have been infomied by the Church of Scotland that if we pay this amount, w'e are
only paying 671/1 o towards the cost of the ministry io our Charge. which is £68.000. This is fijrther
reduced by a Stipend Endowment income for our thurch of £892.00 along wilh 8 fvrther allowance of
£11.196. This meansour flnal Givin8 to Grow contribution for 2025 is £28.712. resuliins in wrpayment
representin8 only 4P/o of the cost of Givin8 to Grow requirements for our charge.

funds At the Year end the Church held Unrestricted funds of £77,827 which with increased expenses
