The Air Training Corps exists for the benefit of young people between the ages of 13 and 20 to provide education in aviation subjects, adventure training, sport, flying and gliding. We provide education in aviation subjects including basic navigation, principles of flight, airmanship, air navigation, propulsion, airframes,operational flying, satellite communications, aircraft handling, radio and radar. Also, citizenship training, adventure training, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, sport and First Aid training. We achieve this by have one or two weekly parade nights at our premises, arranging visits to various installations incuding airfields and Royal Air Force sites and taking part with other Squadrons at higher Wing level activities. Also cadets have the opertunity to attend annual camps and displays.

Objectives: The purpose of the Squadron Association (‘the Association’) is to fully support the squadron commander to further the objects of the Air Training Corps (‘the ATC’) as contained in the Schedule to the Royal Warrant as amended from time to time but in particular to support activities which foster the spirit of adventure amongst the squadron’s cadets and develop their qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
