Cupar Heritage is the local history society for Cupar and the surrounding area. We are a successor to an unincorporated association that existed for similar purposes. Our remit agreed by our membership is to operate a seasonal museum to collect, conserve and display objects that tell the history of the town of Cupar and the surrounding area. In addition , we organise a programme of talks on heritage matters for the interest of our membership and visitors. Our volunteers answer enquiries about the area's local history submitted by visitors and contacts from overseas.

Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

Objectives: The Charitable Purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are the advancement of education, arts, heritage, cultural and science by undertaking the following:- 3.1.1 to advance and encourage an interest in history, with particular emphasis on the history of Cupar and the surrounding area, to educate and inform members of the SCIO and the public generally, and to encourage and facilitate research, understanding and publication of the cultural heritage of the area. 3.1.2 to preserve, conserve, understand and interpret, within the national context, the historical and cultural heritage of Cupar and the surrounding area. 3.1.3 to provide a community resource through the collection, classification and conservation of items of local historical interest. 3.1.4 to promote and advance heritage in Cupar and the surrounding area as a source of pride and to address heritage issues affecting the area.
