AGM Chair Repjrt 2025 Good evening everyone. Welccane along lo our Annual AGM and Trophy Presentation Disco. I hope everyone has warned up their vocal chords and put on their dan¢ing shoes. We have Kennws Disco and karaoke starting soc￿. Before we gel to the fun stuff we will give you a little run ¢JJwn on hcw the club has been perfonning on and off the track. As you're all aware the dub suffered a terrible loss back in November. Not only was nston a highly qualffied coath trmjt he was also our dub Chaiman. Wn was part of this club for 35 years so his knowledge and expertise was second lo none. H8 wasn't the best al sharing this knowledge and he often fo￿￿ il easier to do every job himse so the coaches and committee are still trying to find our feet without him. I dm't think we will ever manage to replace him but we will ¢kn our best to keep the dub up and running. We know how much he loved his athlete5 $0 the best way lo honour his memory is to go oul and smash the UFthning Season and make him proud. Overall the club ha5 had another successful year in tems of new membws and new coaches. Numbers continue to rise steadily, I don't think we had as much of a rise in numbers last year as the year before we are still going in the right direction. We know more could be done to promote the dub and this is something we are WOTking on. Wè have also welcomed 8 few new coaches. Neill BaKour, lan Lackie & Kayleigh Simpson. Huge thanks to you all for coming on board. lan and Neill have been helpers for some time and decided it was lime to become official coaches. Kayleigh is a competing athlete has t£en a greal helper for the younger athletes for many years so ivs great she now has this qualrfication under her t£lt. Many hands make light Wotk as they say and il means coaches can work rotation. Now, as positNe as that is, we still have a shortfall in level 2 coaches. Without a level 2 coach we are not insured to run a session. So when you hear that a session is cancelled due to a lack of coaching availability that usually ffleans we have no level 2s. Again, this is something we are WOTking on but it does lake time to gain a level 2 qualrficalion. Neill has kindly put himseff forward for Ihe level 2 so we would like to wish him the ￿st of luck with this but a the same time can you hurry up because Glen and Simon needs a break If anywe is interested in rxjathing please let us know. The dub will pay for the course. The level one is just a day of training and the club pays for this. You don't need lo kn¢YN a lot aw athleliGs, just be frieThlly and enthusiastic. Other )ach8s are a￿ayS available tr) help and to guide Yc￿1 through. On lop of coaches we need officials for each club competition we enter, we require minimum of 3 officials order to compete. Neill is now wr only qualified official. We relied very heavily on Wn to fu￿11 this role. W you don't want to become a qualrfied official that's okay but if you're child is ccrfnpeting you may be asked to help out in some Capacity. We used lo have a parent rota and Ihis is something that may be reintrrlduced rf we don't get enough volunteers for future cnmpetitions ft)Iks.

Everyo￿ you see at the club is a voluntegr, withtxjl parent volunteers the club ultimately can't SU￿1Ve and thal would mean travelling out of t¢Jwn for 8lhletics rf your child wants to rJJmp6te. We don't want this to happen. We are all busy and cwld all do without the added jobs coachiro and being on a commsttee brings bul w8 do it for the kKls and cmjr love of the swt.. Just saying...The Hawk Hill Harriers havé a loThJ warting Okay. lectur6 over.... Financially the club is doing fine. you should all have 8 cyjpy of the treasurers rewrt. We have continued to UP3rade equipment plan on replacing more of the old trophies. We are considering a little increase on club fees. 11 won't be by much but we haven't increased fees for a long long time and wè are paying more and more for training facilities and buses to lake us lo competitions etc. No change for now bul these changes will be announced prior to our amual ￿0$S cnunty and club signing day in March. We haven't had anyone wilhin the committee realty commrtted lo fundraising this past year bLrt this is something we are hopefvl someone can lake this on. Any suggestions are aNvays welcomè, even from those not on the committee. It may be a one-off event that can be ￿ganised by anyone without expectation of having lo do il another times. Salina has the title of fund-raiser lyJt she is the l&Jy that is responsible for catering at fund-raisers. Salina had a family emergency and cwldn't make tonight sends her apologies. Salina like many oth￿S on the committee no longer has children that are.= involved in th8 club. Like everyone she is extremely busy but doesn't want lo let the club down. Ideally we want a committee of parents and woukl like to rotat8 Wsltions annually. We desperately need improved facilities and this is something that has been ongoing since I was a young athlete. More b'mè is required on this. Hillary has off8red to invest some lime on this going forward. Our aim is to eventually have our own all-wealher track but I'm not surè this will haFpen in our lrf&time. So that was a little report of what goes on off the track and now we are going to give you a litt18 summary of our perfomarKe last season. Some of you may wondw why we have wailed so long to hand out thesè awards. In years gone by the trophy disco was held in September al the end of the season with the AGM al the tum of the year. However, numbers at the AGM were p￿r so w8 thought we would trick you all and combine them! Once we have given you a little run down of the Seas￿ it is my plan to get the AGM out of the way first but rf we don't gel any new volunteers I plan to get you all drunk first next year then run the AGM at the end of the night. All presentations ￿arded lonighl are based on alhlele wfomanc8s over the course of the season wrthin our leagues and inlerclub Frances 09g Competr(ion.

So for t￿Y new members we have 3 main summer leaguès that run frun April- August. For the yO￿g cnes we have the YDL otherwise kTrJYn as th8 youth d8v8lopment leaoue- the lovely Simon 15 the team manager for this one. The YDL gNes U1> U15 athletes the chance lo C￿pete in all events whth is why the league is limited to yOUTh3er athleles. Th￿e wouldn'l be lime in one day lo offer all events to all age groups. In yèars gone by we haven't had great club success al these competrtions, wrely kcause of a shortfall in numbers competing I do bel$8ve we have had a lot of irvjividual success last season and we will talk about this in a bit l am the team manager for the RAM. The RAM league is open to all ages groups whth means OAPS like Myse￿ and Glen will sometimes comFele. This league limits the number events available to allcw all ages to compete. so that's un11s- senior5 . E%h comFelition will hav8 drfferenl events. So for example, the first ccfflp of the season may have U, the next one will have HJ. This is the same for SFKints and thrthvs. Finally, we have the Scoltish Nati(Mal League. This is Glen's League. This is a league for older athletes. U15s - Seniors come from all over Scotland. There is a high caliber of wmpetrtion with some of the best in the country competing. Unfortunately this season the older athletes suffered a lot of injuries and many have Saturday jobs so this league didn't see muth action last summer. Each competition works on an accumulaion of points and most are ran over 3 or 4 league matches. It is important we fill the age groups with as many athletes as possible so we can cover all events and gain as many points as wssible. Points are added up over all competitions to detemine whith age groups make it to the final. There are competttions where athletes can compete for themsefves wrth a thance for medals. Glen usually post5 these dales up on ts group chats bul it is the athletes resFA)nsibility to enter themselves. Now l am the designated t8am manager for the RAM league but I was on loo many holidays this year so didn't 9) along lo all of the competitions. So On￿ l allctated events ar¥J made 1 ￿ changes I handed it over to Simon. Simon will now give us a little summary of how the knds got on within both of these lea3ues. Thanks Simon So in summary, as a dub we ab)ve our weight against the bigger clubs. We aro at a major disadvant4e wth numbers and facilities. however we a￿vayS Ferfomi very well. Athletes have been working very hard this winter so we exF*t to see gxm results this summer. Befor8 we get to the ￿￿eSenta￿)n5 we are going to dissolve the okl commrtee which means all positions are open rf anyone woukl like to themselves ￿ anyona

81$e. I will run thrO￿h each position rthv. Finishing off I would like to thank everyone that helps the club in anyway. A hwe thank you to the Cruickshanks for their continued SUPFXJrt over ts years. We cannot thank you enough. Signed Date Mar 21Y25 Tamara Kenny
