|The|regular|choir season|then|began|in|September,|with|the|usual|
|Christmas|preparations,|including|songs from|the|library and some|new|
|repertoire|introduced|by|the|choirs|new|Musical|Director.|Once|again we|
|were|able|to|perform|in|Momingside|Parish|Church|and|help|raise|over|
|£700|which was donated|to|the|church's Wednesday|Club.|Following|the|
|success of the|Salvation|Army|carol|service|in the|last two|years,|it was|
|requested|that we|did|this|again.|The|programme|featured|the|choir|and|
|the|Salvation|Army|brass|band and|included|contributions|from|other|
|musicians and|singers.|The|concert|raised|over £1,000|for the|toy|
|appeal.|
|Then|it was onwards and|upwards|with|preparations|for our spring|
|concert,|with|this|year's|theme|being|‘Written|in|the|Stars”.|Some|songs|
|were selected|from|the|choir's|library|but a|significant|number|of new|
|pieces were|purchased|as|our|Musical|Director expanded|the|choir's|
|repertoire.|KS|Dance|Academy and|Broxbum|and|Livingston|Band|
|joined|us once|again,|making|great contributions,|and we managed|to|
|pull|together another massed|number|for the opening|of the|second|half|
|of the|show.|It was|another|enjoyable|series|of performances|well|
|received|by the|concert goers.|Retiring|bucket collections|were made|
|which|resulted|in|the choir|being|able|to donate £400|to Young|Carers|
|Scotland and|£400|to|Guide|Dogs|for|the|Blind.|
|The|choirs|Ensemble|group|made|four care|home|visits|across the|
|period|to perform|for|residents|and|mark|special occasions|such|as|a|
|resident's|100™|birthday.|
|Brief statement|of|the|charity's|policy|The choir's|total funds/reserves of £12,270|at|the end of the period were|
|on|reserves|7%|higher than|at the same time|last|year.|The|choir aims|to maintain|
|reserves|around|this|level,|balancing|the|income|and|expenditure|related|
|to|the|choir's|activities|while|continuing|to|donate|significant|sums|to our|
|chosen|charities.|
