The asS0aatn was granted charitable status by OSCR on 30 April 2012. Trustee recruitment and appointment The managent committee. which meets on a bimonthly basis. are the charty, trustees. Membership of the management committee is open to individuals ninated by each of the nine Day Centres in East Lothian. Trustees are appointed at The Annual General Meeting which is held in the auiumn eath year. The Constslution requires that all meetings must have a quorum of a minimum of five Day Centres in attendance and each Centre is entitled to ce vote when considering each business matter. The Trustees are responsible for the strategic direction and govemance of the Association, whi15t much of the day to day activibes are delegated to selected trustees, convened for speufic purposes. Objectives and activities Charitable purposes The objects for whieh the Assouation is established are the relief of those older people in need by reason of age,111-health. disability, ffinancial or other disadvantage by assisting in the provision of day care. Summary of the main aclivities in relation lo these objects The activtbes of the Association revolve around eothinating the semees offered by all the Day Centres in East Lothian with emphasis gwen to the adoption of best practice. The charity represents nine Day Centres in East Lothian. A comprehensive training programme is in plac* to develop and improve the standards of care and management of all Day Centres wa staff and volunteers.
APPENDIX 1 Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period The Association of East Lothian Day Centres (AELDCI continues to provide Day Centre services for Older People in 9 areas throughout the communitie5 of East Lothian. In addition to it5 | Centre services each provide a Community Outreach provision to those who may also attend Day Centres but need additional support outside of their DC hours. A service can also be provided to those who do not wish to attend a DC but may need varied forms of support at home or in the community. Both provisions ensure that carer5/family members are given opportunities for respite and this is Vital in maintaining family life where our older people are able to feel safe, are adequately fed, can participate in various activities in the DC or out in their communities. These are extremely vttal SeiceS to all of our users and families and is greatly valued. Throughout this financial year the activities have been maintained on a regular basis. Regular AELDC Business Meetings have taken place and our Annual General Meeting was held on 811112023.
