Our charity is set up to help local people who are experiencing poverty and disadvantage, deprivation and inequalities, addictions and poor mental and physical health. We do this by providing the following services: “One Stop Shop” advice service providing information, advice and hands-on support for claiming benefits and government grants. Form filling (paper and online). Addressing debt, primarily rent and gas/electric arrears. Money management, building financial skills. Signposting and referrals to additional advice and information services. Access to a cash budget for purchasing food and helping with gas and electric costs. Digital skills for people of all ages who have no or limited access to digital services. Employability skills for people aged 16 to 70 years who are facing barriers to employment (long term unemployment, mental health issues, lack of skills and qualifications, addictions, homelessness ) Employability skills for people experiencing in work poverty.

Objectives: 1. The relief of unemployment for the benefit of the public in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment. 2. For the public benefit to promote learning by people not in full time employment through the continued development of their individual capabilities, competencies, skills and understanding in subjects of educational value. 3. To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. 4. To advance in life and help young people through providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. 5. The prevention or relief of poverty in the Merkinch area of Inverness by providing services to individuals in need. 6. To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Merkinch in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs.
