The Charity works to achieve the aims of the Purpose stated in Section C.1 above. The Trustees meet formally on up to 6 occasions every year to set policy and strategy and to monitor progress with maintenance tasks and projects. A committee of the Trust meets less frequently to manage the loch water quality and the shared use of the loch by a range of watersports clubs. Friends of the Trust are contacted regularly with Newsletters which contain news of past events, and advertise ways of participating in Trust activities such as walking (weekly) or annually (two week festival) using the local network of paths and some more distant paths to attract a wider audience. Newsletters may also invite volunteers for manual work related to our projects and update those Friends on progress with the projects. The occasional lecture, photo competition and fun gathering for the enjoyment and participation of our Friends, breaks up the year.

Objectives: 3.1.1 to conserve, regenerate and improve the environment, ecosystem (flora, fauna and fish) and biodiversity of, in and related to the Craigencalt area, including Kinghorn Loch and surrounding countryside, by seeking to establish, develop, manage, promote and where relevant integrate, social, environmental and economic policies relating thereto, including the aim of designation of the loch as a Local Nature Reserve. 3.1.2 to educate the public in relation to the heritage and culture of the Craigencalt area, including Kinghorn Loch and surrounding countryside. 3.1.3 to promote and carry out research relating to the sustainable management and development of the Craigencalt area, including Kinghorn Loch and surrounding countryside (where ?sustainable management and development' means management and development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). 3.1.4 to advance community development and participation within the area, to include encouraging appropriate businesses, traditional skills and methods of working and living sustainably and healthily. through workshops, courses and physical projects. 3.1.5 to promote and develop non-powered amateur water sports such as canoeing and sailing and other recreations such as walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing in the Craigencalt area, including Kinghorn Loch and surrounding countryside. 3.1.6 to provide recreational facilities, or organise recreational facilities, to encourage greater public participation in recreational pursuits at Craigencalt, including Kinghorn Loch and surrounding countryside.
