Activities

'the prevention or relief of poverty','the advancement of education','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

The Bellsmyre Digital Community was set up in 2001 to advance education, particularly in the field of communication technology: to relieve the needs of people suffering from mental or/ and physical disability by increasing access to advice and/or other support services and facilities. To promote and / or provide training, particularly in such information technology skills as would assist participants in gaining employment and / or adding to career CV'S. We also work with other agencies by engaging in relevant partnership projects: eg the Schools History Project and by hiring out our training facilities with appropriate technical support.

Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: as follows and shall be consistent with our ethos: “where everyone is included”: To advance education, particularly in the field of information and communications technology. To relieve the needs of people suffering from physical or mental disability, illness and/or impairment, and other vulnerable groups within the community, and in particular by improving their access to advice and/or other support services and facilities, and by reducing the social exclusion of such people through improved communication networks. To promote and/or provide training, particularly in such skills as would assist the participants in gaining employment within the field of information and communications technology. To relieve unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment.
