Main acvies: East Dunbartonshire Visually Impaired People's Forum (EDVIP) carries out acvies and services, in accordance with its purpose. The mission of the EDVIP is to empower blind and visually impaired people to achieve their maximum level of personal independence. The Forum shall acvely promote the welfare and development of the people in East Dunbartonshire to address problems which affect visually impaired people directly and indirectly, and to achieve and push for change.
Acvies, Achievements and Performance
The EDVIP Forum has connued to thrive in 2024/25. The group meet weekly in The Park Centre, Kirkinlloch and welcomed several new members during the year.
The Forum regularly invites guest speakers to provide informaon and advice on a range of topics of interest to members, such as welfare benefits and safety issues. The group also holds social events and oungs which provides valuable social interacon, parcularly to our members who live alone. Many of our members meet socially and parcipate in other relevant groups.
The Forum is grateful to our sighted volunteers, without whom the organisaon would not be able to operate as it does. The Forum connues to go from strength to strength and the trustees and the members look forward to another successful year in 2025/26.
Financial Review
finances were in a healthy posion, with a bank account balance of £3,402. Members pay a small charge at each meeng, which covers the cost of hall hire and refreshments. We are grateful to our Cra Group who make regular contribuons from the sales of handmade cards and gis.
The Forum holds fundraising events which enables it to support other charies. In 2024/25, we made financial contribuons to the Marie Curie Hospice and Poppyscotland.
EDVIP move forward in 2025/26 in a strong posion financially and with an enthusiasc commiee who will ensure our charity's future is secure.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of East Dunbartonshire Visually Impaired Peoples Forum
I report on the accounts for the year ended 1 August 2025.
Respecve responsibilies of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparaon of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charies and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charies Accounts (Scotland) Regulaons 2006 (as amended). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulaon 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulaons does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts under Secon 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether parcular maers have come to my aenon.
Basis of independent examiner's statement
My examinaon was carried out in accordance with Regulaon 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulaons. An examinaon includes a review of the accounng records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideraon of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanaons from the trustees concerning any such maers. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examinaon, no maer has come to my aenon:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements
-
to keep accounng records in accordance with Secon 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulaon 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulaons, and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounng records and comply with Regulaon 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulaons
have not been met; or
- (2) to which, in my opinion, aenon should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
