Troon Allotment Society leases land from the South Ayrshire Council and membership is open to all over 18 living within South Ayrshire. We are run by a volunteer committee. We have 7 community groups using the site as well as our regular plot holders. Some of these groups are registered charities, others supporting vulnerable groups e.g. dementia and others are educational. We have extended our educational programme this year to include the local Cubs, so that our range using the allotments goes from 8 to over 80. We have joined the Ayrshire Nectar Network this year to extend our environmental knowledge. We are still using our own water supply but looking to solar power to replace our petrol generator.

Objectives: The objects of the Society shall be for the benefit of the general public to:- a. Conserve, preserve, protect and improve the land worked on. b. Advance the education of those using the allotments by encouraging sustainable and environmentally friendly use of the site. c. Work with community groups and local schools to encourage the enjoyment of gardening.
