Governing Document
The Association is a charitable unincorporated association and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution.
Recruitment policy
All of the Association’s trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at our Annual General Meeting which is held in November of each year.
Charitable purpose
Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, are to work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming schoo! which is inclusive for all parents and guardians; to promote partnership between the school, its pupils and all parents and guardians; to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare ofthe[pupils][and][ to][ identify][ and] represent the views of parents and guardians on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
Activities and Achievements
This year saw much change in the Parent Council, with three new Officer Bearers being elected at the AGM (Tim Artus, Chair; Darina Kelly, Secretary; and, Paula Starritt, Minute Secretary) as well as the establishment of a Fundraising Sub-Committee led by Joahnna and Guy Hutchison at the start of 2025. Attendance at in-person meetings has been positive and this has been followed by strong engagement and interest from the Parent Forum around the activities of the School and the Parent Council (PC).
As well as within the PC, the School’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and wider staff body has had many changes, with the PC continuing to engage effectively throughout.
The major focus for support to the School has been with regards the leaking roof and damaged ceiling in Classroom 14 (Geography) and a long, extended campaign involving engagement with Elected Members of the House of Commons, the Scottish Parliament, and the Highland Council as well as local press including The Strathspey & Badenoch Herald. This engagement has successfully assisted the School in being the recipient of a wide-ranging project to rectify and make good the damage that has occurred over more than a decade from water ingress, as well as improving the fabric of the School, particularly on the corridor around Room 14. Further work will be undertaken to improve the School Canteen and Girl’s toilets.
Fundraising has remained active, including raffles at school events alongside funding bids from funds such as the Co-op Local Community Fund and Tesco’s Community Grants. We will
