The Scottish Recorder Orchestra (SRO) is open to all recorder players who wish to join and are of the required standard (self-selecting). There are 9 3-hour long rehearsals every year in central Scotland, with our (paid) musical director, where we work through pieces for a public concert in June. In addition, SRO organises a residential weekend in the autumn with 8 playing sessions (also option to non-members). SRO also lends out instruments.
Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people','Older People','Other defined groups'
Objectives: To enhance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the recorder, the recorder orchestra and the art and science of music in all its aspects, including through the presentation of public concerts.
