Elgin City Band performs in public as requested and raises funds at community events. It rehearses weekly with direction from a conductor and with regular attendance of local volunteer musicians it maintains as high a standad of musicianship as possible.

Objectives: The Association has been formed to benefit the Community of brass band musicians who reside in Moray, Scotland or within a ten-mile radius thereof The Association's objects are: The advancement of the Arts and Heritage by the promotion and preservation of Elgin City Band (which dates from 1858), as part of the wider brass band movement, in order to provide musical interest and entertainment for the people of Moray and further afield and to provide rehearsal facilities to allow existing and future members and associate members to further their knowledge and maintain high standards of playing, all for the benefit of those who take part and the public in general, now and in the future.
