The purpose of the charity is to provide guidance and support to parents, family and friends in the event of the suicide of a young person or those affected by the death of a young person by other circumstances. The charity aims to offer one-to-one bereavement counselling , group counselling, training for volunteers and delivery of training programmes on the issues and impacts of suicide within local schools, colleges, universities and community youth groups.

Objectives: The charitable purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are: 3.1.1 to relieve the emotional and psychological suffering, and promote the wellbeing, physical and mental health of families and individuals who have been affected by suicide, bereavement, and loss, in particular, through: - 3.1.1.1 the provision of support, guidance, information and counselling services and tailored packages to assist those in need. 3.1.1.2 the provision of a service which is easily accessible to those who need it, and a confidential setting where they can feel safe, secure and supported. 3.1.2 to advance education through the provision of comprehensive training packages in counselling and support, issues surrounding suicide, bereavement and loss and the impact of suicide.
