Whitburn Youth Band encourages participation and enjoyment of music played by a modern brass band. The band serves the local community of Whitburn and the surrounding area by providing music for parades, annual events (for other charities, civic occasions and concerts) and provides our players with opportunities to play at their highest level be it beginner or advanced. Various bands and groups are provided for entry level, intermediate and advanced players with regular rehearsal and tuition time. Activities also include rehearsals, open workshops and demonstrations, and playing in concerts and contests. We also encourage our players in their musical (and other) activities outside of our band.
Objectives: To educate the public of Whitburn, West Lothian and the wider community in the musical arts and, in particular, the art of brass band playing and to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said art by the presentation of concerts and other activities.
