The Association aims to collect and record in written and digital form the history of Glengarry, of its people, genealogy, and mythology. To make such information available in the Heritage Centre, to visitors and to any others interested in such matters. The Heritage Centre is open from April to September each year, for visitors, but out of season visitors can gain admission by appointment. The Centre is also open on special occasions such as Armistice Sunday.

Objectives: The advancement of arts heritage culture and science by means of the following, building up and cataloguing an archive of written oral and photographic material of local interest. establishing a catalogue of historical artefacts held in the community. mounting annual exhibitions of the material collected, making the information accessible to visitors to the Heritage Centre, through the internet and through the production of a series of booklets of local historical interest. supporting local historical projects. maintaining and developing overseas connections and fostering educational links with local schools and other interested bodies.
