CHARLESTON VILLAGE HALL COMMirrEE- CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT October 2024 scorTISH CHARITY NUMBER SC037211 Scottish charity Number SC037211 Current Trustees Contact Address clo Charleston Village Hall, Mid Row, Charleston Village, By Glamis, Forfar. DD8 1 UG Recruitment and appointsnent of Trustees All of the Commrttee's Trustees are appointed or reappointed by villagers at our annual general rneeting, which is held in May each year. Governlng Docurnent The Village Hall Committee Is a charrtable assoclatlon and Ihe purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our Constitutlon. Charitable Purposes Our purposes, as set out in our Constitution. are to fundraise for the upkeep of Ihe Village Hall and Playpark for the use of the villagers and people in the surrounding area. Activities and Achievements Welcome everyone to our again late AGMI! Lovely to see everyone here. There is not much to say about the activities of the hall in the last year. We are in a fortunate position that we are not having to fundraise as much as we used to, and the hall arKJ house rents cover our costs at the moment. However, it might not always be like this, the hall does need constant rnainten8n￿ and at some point grants and fundraising will be needed again. The hall continues to be busy for children's birthday parties and even had an adult birthday party here just last month. Thanks again to Sy Douglas in Glamis for coming and putting the bouncy castle up and down for all the children's parties. We al80 have CVCP and a new resilience group operating under our urnbrella now and hopefully, as long as the hell continues to function. these groups will keep the playpark going and also help the village with resilience against whatever weather befalls us next!! Thanks to the commttees of both of these groups for keeping the community spirit in Charleston alive. The Hall is doing well but again it needs new people to take it forward. Hopefulty this year new people will get on board. Thank you to all my fellow committee members who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise everything for the events that we are involved in. We wouldn't be in such a good position without you all. Finally, I want to give my best wishes to the new Committee for running the hall. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Trustee remuneration and expenses The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year. Approved by the Trustees and signed on their behalf
