The Highlands Astronomical Society aims to promote and extend awareness of, and interest in , all branches of astronomy and cosmology. We host educational, practical and social activities in the highlands of Scotland within a friendly and stimulating environment , accessible to all ages and levels of knowledge. The Society seeks to achieve its aims through a varied programme of meetings, activities and events, including talks and presentations by members and external speakers, reviewing member's astro photographs, taking part in science festivals and social events. Our official observing sessions had to be put on hold for a while due to liability issues, but the observatory will reopen soon after some repairs.
Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'
Objectives: To advance education and extend awareness of, and interest in, all branches of astronomy and cosmology in the Highlands of Scotland.
