The Charity was set up to undertake rehearsals and performances of a wide variety of classical music involving members of the society, soloists, conservatoire instrumental students and amateur specialist instrumentalists. This year it included an orchestral concert in December with a local violin soloist, a Spring concert of music by Scandinavian composers, and finished the session in May with concert programme of Bruckner’s 4th symphony and Chabrier’s Suite Pastorale. The orchestra relished the challenge of the different styles of music in these varied orchestral programmes, which were well attended and received by the local audiences in Stirling.
