The 278th Glasgow Guide Unit is part of Girlguiding Glasgow and Girlguiding UK. The aim of Girlguiding as a charity is to help girls and young women develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world according to the principles of the Guide Association, and to facilitate Guiding for girls and young women in the East End of Glasgow. The unit meets weekly at Carntyne and Cranhill Church, and delivers a programme of activities, games and badge work. Around 25 girls aged between 10 and 14 attend each week

Objectives: Promoting the instruction of girls of all classes in the principles of discipline, loyalty, and good citizenship.
