The Scottish Pakistani Association (SPA) was founded in 1982, led by late Mr Bashir Maan, CBE. Its aim was to develop communications and friendly relations between the Pakistani community and all other people in Scotland. The membership is drawn from the Scottish and Pakistani communities in almost equal numbers. Our activities broadly attempt to reflect the cultures of Scottish and Pakistani people. Since its formation the SPA has been actively engaged in promoting and fostering cultural and social activities, in order to develop a greater understanding at all levels, national and international. During the last decade under the Chair of Dr Rose Mary Harley, Dr Azra Meadows, OBE, Dr S Waqar Nabi, and latterly under the Chair of Dr Umer Zeeshan, the SPA has undertaken a number of activities to enhance community integration and to broaden awareness of the social, cultural and educational issues of Pakistan.

Objectives: To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the Pakistani community in Scotland.
