An amendmentwas madeto ourconstitution 8tourAGM on 06105121 to allow us to have more committee members (trustees) to enable us to move forward with upgrading th8 SkateArea within the play park. ointment of Trustees The managementcommittee, which normallymeets every 3 months, arethe Charity's Trustees. Membership of the management committee is open to all individuals residing in the settlement of Beith. as defined by North Ayrshire CounciL Loc8L Plan. Trustees are elected atthe AnnualG8neral Meeting. Th8 committee nowto b8 a minimum offour and not morethan ten. To provide a safe environment for children, young people and adults to meet and pLay. The playand recreation areas are well established. 8nd the main aim of thetrustees is to ensure the continuation of this popularamenity8nd its benefits tothe children and young peopLe in the localcommunitythrough an ongoing programme of maintenance and communityiiaison. In addition. the trustees havefocussed on how regeneration of the play area can be met and have proceeded with this through an updated concrete skatep8rk, additional zip slide within the pLay area and outdoorfitness equipment atvarious spots throughout the Beith Orr Public Park facility.
The play park continues to be well used by chiLdren and young people of all ages and a8 previously Stated, routine m8intenance. repairs and vand8lism are deattwith as and when required in conjunction with North Ayrshire Council. Ournew concrete Skatepa has undergone completion and was off iciallyopened by Lord Provost on the 10th of May2025 at a well-supported community open day. We had skateboarders Treatment, deliver a great demonstration of skills and tricks while local skateboarder lead a children's scooter jam event of skateboard/scooter trials forthe chlldren of Beith. We were supported through Ioc8l buslnesses wlth food from the Munchlevan and a chill out zone associated with North Ayrshire CounGil. We only have minorsnagging that we continue to address with the assistance ofALAN JONES ASSOCIATES. The zip slide has been safely installed In our upper age play park area and is observed to be a popular addition with the children of Belth. BPAG entered an agreementwith Beith Community Council who donated the funding forth8 purchase and installation of outdoor gym equipment. The installation has au been completed and there are various pieces of equipment availableto promote better health and wellbeing opportunities for all Beith community. Our Facebook page has demonstrated our progress of events and has kept members of the Beith community updated on our progress at reguLar intervals. Our skatepa rk opening was covered within the localArdrossan and SaLtcoats Herald, with great illustrations from both demonstrators and local chiLdren. We are currently looking into renovation of the teenage shelter as an are8 to address older 8dolescent group needs.
