The trust is set up to relieve people in Scotland suffering injury or illness by the provision of immediate medical care, as well as advancing the studies of immediate medical care and relieving human suffering by providing rehabilitation and the promotion of medical research.

Objectives: (1) The relief of persons in Scotland suffering injury or illness by the provision of immediate medical care (2) The advancement of the study of immediate medical care, by the provision of education and training to amongst others medical and paramedical personnel working in Scotland (3) The relief of person in Scotland suffering injury, illness or disability by the provision of general medical care and rehabilitation, including the provision of equipment and facilities (4) The relief of human suffering by the promotion of medical research (5) Such other purposes as are recognised by law to be exclusively charitable within the meaning of Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 or any Act amending or replacing the same and which relate to the foregoing purposes
