To extend and encourage keeping of goats under good conditions and further supply of wholesome milk. improve various breeds of goats in Scotland and develop valued qualities in stock. circulate knowledge/information about goats. promote holding of goat shows and goat classes at agricultural shows. recommend judges for local shows. prepare/issue annual list of stud goats available in Scotland. issue The Scottish Goatkeeper' magazine which contains details of Federation businerss, show reports, advice and other items of interest, including goat husbandry.
Objectives: a. The promotion, encouragement and improvement of goatkeeping in Scotland b. The preservation and improvement of the various breeds of goats in Scotland and to encourage the keeping of approved stud males or use of approved artificial insemination c. The promotion of goat shows and goat classes at agricultural shows
