The Riddell Bequest was set up following the donation by the original benefactor to set up the award by Sheila Riddell, a former President of the Aberdeen Society of Architects. The fund provides cash awards for the benefit of Architecture students studying at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Robert Gordon University, Garthdee Campus, Aberdeen in the event of hardship. A Student facing hardship can make, via the Secretary to The School of Architecture, an application for assistance funding noting the reasons and implications. The Trustees can then make payment for any purposes connected with the maintenance, welfare and education of students at the School where hardship is providing a negative impact on them being able to complete their studies. The Trustees have awarded grants to applicable students following a suitable interview process although the Trustees retain the right to withold payments.
