Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of education','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

The charity is set up to help maintain a community for the Youth of the area of Humbie and its surrounds. The local council closed the primary school which had been the source of many community events and gatherings. We felt there was a need to maintain as many of the community events previously organised by the PTA and the school as possible. Further we wanted to provide a source of support (mainly financial) for the children of the area so that they could still enjoy extra curricular activities that had been removed by the school. We further wished to encourage them to maintain hobbies, undertake charity work, gap years, sports etc by offering small disbursements to help them to be able to afford these activities. We organise a local firework display, winter market and other occasional events throughout the year to raise the funds which can then be distributed when applied for.

Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people'

Objectives: 2.The objects of the Association shall be to:- a. Promote the wellbeing of the Humbie community though providing a source of initial funding to community events. b. Advance the wellbeing of young people in the area with a source of funding by application should they wish to undertake enriching activities or charitable endeavours. In furtherance thereof: i. To encourage community gatherings in a rural setting. ii. To liaise with individuals or groups keen to run local events designed to bring community spirit and allow participation of all ages and social backgrounds. iii. To enable a varied programme of activities which will broaden the opportunities for people within the community. iv. To allow other local neighbouring communities to attend social events in Humbie as a means to bring people and villages together. v. To maintain the sense of community which has grown in the Humbie community over many years. vi. To support young members of the community to gain enriching or education experiences through funds raised.
