BEMIS is dedicated to advocating for inclusion, equality, and democratic participation. It works to strengthen the capacity and visibility of grassroots ethnic minority organisations and ensures their concerns are heard in policy-making at local, national, UK, and EU levels . Through initiatives like the Ethnic Minority National Resilience Network (EMNRN), BEMIS has supported communities during crises like COVID-19—offering coordination, resources, and vital support pathways to those most affected . Funded primarily by the Scottish Government’s Equality and Human Rights Fund (managed by Inspiring Scotland), with additional support from Sky and the Corra Foundation, BEMIS continues to deliver inclusive, empowering programmes across the nation .
