Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the advancement of health','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
LINK provides befriending support to adults and adolescents who have or have had mental health problems and are identified as being socially or rurally isolated. Referrals come from external parties such as social services and CAMHS. The charity is split into two projects, one to support adults and one to support young people under the age of 18. LINK employs a Project Manager and a Project Co-ordinator for each project. The staff recruit, train. match and support volunteers in befriending service users, as well as organising social events, well being events and, most recently, a peer support group for adults. LINK has a hugely positive impact on the lives of its service users, some of whom go on to become volunteers themselves. The funding required to support the work of LINK primarily comes from grants.
Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people','People with disabilities or health problems'
