Galloway Lourdes Hospitalite AGM Sunday 15[th] February 2026

Treasurers Report

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry I can’t be there in person – thanks to Suzy for reading this out.

Here is my treasurers report for 2025. I have also printed out a summary of the accounts giving you an overview of the figures for the year.

First of all let me please give a big thank you to everyone who has made any kind of financial support to the hospitalite over the last year. Every donation is very much appreciated.

The totals in our accounts currently stand at

Main Account £9764.50 Long Term Deposit Account £28,170.77

The income for the year was £4965 and the expenses were £4200.50 giving a profit of £764.50.

Our first challenge, over last year, was fundraising and if you remember we decided to have a grand raffle. This was a huge success with £400 paid out to our lucky winners and a profit made of £1180. Well done to the winners and thanks to all who supported this venture. We have decided to do the same again this year to celebrate our 70[th] Anniversary so please take the time at the end of today’s AGM to either buy some tickets or take some away to sell in your parishes or to family and friends.

Our main expenses for this year were in the preparation and during the trip to Lourdes. This included paying for assisted pilgrim’s fares and entertaining our assisted pilgrims during the week.

Over the year we have had many donations for which we are very grateful. This has included a donation from the 50:50 club to cover the costs of the wheelchair hire in Lourdes. Remember that you can join the 50:50 club for the cost of £15 a year which gives you the chance to win a prize each month as well as contributing towards their donations. Myriam organises this each year so a huge vote of thanks to her for her sterling work on this over the years. Please speak to her for more information and if you want to join.

Finally we all enjoyed the reunion after our trip to Lourdes. As well as the ticket money we had a raffle and so the profit from the evening was £427.

Once again we encourage you all to become a member of our hospitalite. This costs £2 a year (and it is also possible for you to add an additional donation) and in return you will receive a membership card which reminds you of our aims. There are envelopes available today for you to sign up or can I once again ask for volunteers to take some envelopes and try to encourage new members to join from around the diocese.

Thanks for listening and please look out for details of any social events in the coming year and details of the raffle draw.
