The main purpose of the Air Training Corps (often called “Air Cadets”) is to give young people opportunities for personal development, leadership, and aviation-related experiences. Examples are: 1. Build life skills Cadets develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and communication skills. Activities are designed to help young people grow into responsible and capable adults. 2. Leadership and responsibility You get chances to lead teams, plan activities, and take on responsibility as you progress through the ranks. 3. Aviation and aerospace exposure Since it’s linked to the Royal Air Force, cadets learn about flying, aircraft, and space. Many get opportunities for: Flying in real aircraft Gliding Flight simulation 4. Adventure and outdoor training There’s a big focus on activities like: Camping Hiking Shooting (safely supervised) Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participation 5. Education and qualifications

Objectives: The purpose of the Squadron Association (‘the Association’) is to fully support the squadron commander to further the objects of the Air Training Corps (‘the ATC’) as contained in the Schedule to the Royal Warrant as amended from time to time but in particular to support activities which foster the spirit of adventure amongst the squadron’s cadets and develop their qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
