Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of citizenship or community development','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

Inclusion was established in 1996 as the escape committee for people who had lived in Lennox Castle Hospital for many years and were assessed as unlikely to benefit from moving into the community and becoming part of community life (labels like: complex support needs, behaviours that challenge services, a significant risk to themselves and others…) The organisation is small by design, believing that truly person-centred support requires every manager in the organisation to know and understand the hopes, dreams and aspirations of every person we work for. As an organisation our gift has always been supporting people who are perceived as challenging to services in an asset-based way that is focused on them as a person. We are adamant that the system modernisation gains driven by the pandemic will enhance our ability to design and deliver bespoke person centred services that focus on people’s assets and endeavour to catalyse community connectedness.

Objectives: For the relief of persons resident in Scotland who have mental or physical disabilities, who are mentally ill, or old and infirm, and for the relief of poverty, and to promote public education as to the rights of people described above.
