The charity was set up to provide programmes of work, principally using performance arts (music, dance and drama) to enhance the lives of community groups - particularly those experiencing disadvantage or those in need of support, to promote creative activities and opportunities for self expression. We have done this most recently within primary education settings working with young people - using music , dance and drama to create performances exploring global citizenship issues, encouraging ensemble work, and promoting inclustion and good health.
Objectives: (1) To encourage the education, health and welfare of children, young people and adults in Scotland via the research and promotion of good listening skills and the encouragement of the visual and performing arts, in such ways as the Company shall from time to time think fit without regard to race, nationality, creed, age, gender or sexual orientation and without geographical restriction and in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of such objects):- (a) to provide listening programmes using the Tomatis Method and Listening Fitness training (LiFT), designed to enhance the listening, communication and learning skills of children and young people and their families. (b) to devise and implement programmes of visual and performance arts designed to encourage participation and to promote creativity, imagination and a spirit of enterprise. (c) to offer complementary programmes to enable families to obtain the benefits of the Company's initiatives. (d) to establish a friendly and welcoming environment to enhance the welfare of all participants, visitors and staff. (e) to engage in programmes of research related to the interests and initiatives of the Company, in collaboration with colleagues from academic research departments. (f) to monitor and evaluate work in progress, adjusting programmes as necessary to meet the specific needs of participants, and participating in reviews for individuals as requested. (g) to disseminate results obtained by the Company through presentations, workshops, seminars and reports designed to promote future developments, both nationally and internationally. (h) to provide training for staff, volunteer workers, students and colleagues in the use of programmes offered by the Company.
