Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of religion','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation'

The charity was set up to support Quakers and others to promote understanding of, and action for, peace, drawing on the principles of the Religious Society of Friends. We: - arrange meetings for our members to learn and to develop our understanding of current peace issues - run workshops and other events for Quakers and other members of the community - disseminate information and other resources, from printed literature to web-based content - collaborate with others, Quakers and non-Quakers, in developing joint activities that are consistent with our objectives. Our members are representatives of Quaker areas across the North of Britain – all of Scotland and the north of England – who set general priorities for the work. Trustees and working groups work with and support a small paid staff in delivering our work.

Beneficiaries: 'Other defined groups','No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

Objectives: The objects of the Board shall be to advance within its area of operation the religious principles of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) through the education and training of members of the public in matters of justice, peace and the integrity of creation, strictly in accordance with the established testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) with special reference to that against the occasion of all wars, through the provision of organised courses and programmes in such matters in an environment that shall provide for the spiritual and moral renewal and refreshment of those members of the public.
