Coigach Community Trust SCIO (CCT) Treasurerfs Report for October 2024 - September 2025 The receipts and payments account is presented monthly to the Committee of Trustees., the annual summary of this account is presented at the AGM, together with the report which will be submitted to the Scottish Charities Regulator. OSCR. We are extremely grateful to Angus Mcmurchy, manager of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Ullapool, for acting as independent examiner of the accounts and approving them. It is impossible to quantify the contribution made by members of the Committee of Trustees.- although finance, administration and cleaning are paid posts, there are Committee members who volunteer many hours of unpaid work for the Trusl, without which the Community Hall would simply not function. We are also extremely grateful to those members of our community who volunteer to help with events and activities.. with such a small core committee, their help is invaluable and very much appreciated, Looking at the final accounts for the year, l am pleased to report that we ended the year with a small profit, although running costs continue to rise. Although the Trust still maintains a healthy financial reserve. the Trustees are always mindful of the long-term maintenance needs of the Ha51 and continue to ring-fence money to be able to carry out repairs and renewals as necessary. Income Rentals.. Income from hire and rental of rooms (main hall, lounge, community room, medical room, library) was similar to last year. The regular rents received from the CCDC (office space), HM Coastguard (training sessions}, Highlife Highland (Library), Highland Council (primary school use). Ullapool Medical Practice (for doctors, surgeries) and Highland Health Board (for nurses, use) are very important to CCT income and have all contributed to keeping the Trust going during times of the year when there has been little income from other sources. CCT is very grateful to all these organisations, as well as to individuals and local groups who hired the hall on a regular or 0¢s1Onal basis whether for sports, entertainments, meetings or service provision. As always, their contributions to CCT income are highly valued and thanks go to all of Ihem for continuing to use the Hall's facilities. We also give hire of the main hall free of charge to the after-school sports sessions as part of our charFtable obligations to our community, as well as the weekly Lego club which is held in the lounge. Events.. We held a number of events over the year.. a dance following the Coigach Half-marathon in October, which raised approx. £750 a Halloween Paty at the start of November (£1500) a St AndrewslRomanian NKJht at the end of November, which raised funds for Romania as well as raising approx. £900 for our hall, the annual Christmas lIldh raised £1250 and the New Year's Day Drop-in over £200.
In May there was a concert by Duncan Chisholm as well as tsyo private parties which raised another £1100, then the Coigach Gathering at the beginning of July raised around £4000, a welcome l)oost to our income. As always, we are very grateful to all those who gtve their time to help our small committee at many of these events. Other Fundraising income." As well as the larger events mentioned above. our pop-up shop, 'Feel Good Coigach, continued to provide a steady income for the first part of the year, totalling over £1800. Wednesday coffee mornings were also a valuable regular source of income. giving the hall £390 over the year. Prize Draw." This year the prize draw was again roughly based on a 50.'50 model, contributing about £700 to Hall income. Expendlture Electricity. oil and telephone.. costs reduced from last year by £1100. Most of the reduction came from lower oil costs,. telephone costs were up by about £300. Repairs, renewals and maintenance.. major expenditure was £3000 last December towards the cost of replacing the hall lighting and £1500 in September for replacing the fence at the entrance to the car park. SubsGriptions.' The biggest costs here were £260 paid to the Performing Rights Society and £230 to Highland Council fof the renewal of our Public Entertainments Licence. Staff costs.. These increased by around £800 on last year, due to wage increases based on inflation and to ensure that we comply with minimum wage levels. The Donation of £3500 In 2023-24 is restricted to funding activltleslevents alm8d at older members of the community. The Restrlcted Grant (1) of £450 was from Colgach Communty Developmont Company {CCDC) to pay for a band at the Christmas Ceilidh fundraiser. Grant {2) of £4800 from CCDC enables the Tnjst to undertake activities such as workshops to promote health and wellbeing in members of the community. The Restricted lunds of £80 000 shown on ihe Slatement of Balances is money set aside for long-temi maintenance costs, thus enabling repairs and renewals to be carried out when necessary. The Playing Field is one of the assets of Coigach Community Trust and is managed by a separate group from the main committee of Twstees. Receipts to this account and payments from il are restricted for uses such as repairs and renewals to the playing field and its surrounds, as well as costs incurred in organising an annual half-marathon fund- ralser. Relat&dparty transactions No remunerdtion was paid to any charity trustee during the year. Emma Mackenzie sits on the committee of Trustees: she is also employed as the deaner for Coigach Community Hall, the main asset of the Trust and receives a regular salary for this. It should be noted that this is separate from her role as a Truslee, for which she does not receive any remuneration.

There conlinves to be a good relatlOF15hip wifh Coigach Communrty Rowing with the boat shed having been on the site for eleven years. le Coigach Gathering once again took place on the Playlng Fie4d in the Summer in Gonivnction with the Village Hall. The Colga¢h Half Marathon took place in Octob8r wrth another impréssive turnout of s¥venty seven runners. This again has provided a vital boost lo the Playing F181d funds aided by the successtul selling ol Halt Marathon T shirts on the day. This year the catering wa8 taken on by SIE with funds channelt8d lo th6 Bolhan Fund which focus6s on the local communty. MAINTENANCE Highland Council have continued to cul the grass during the 2025 Summer. Thg trees have now created a subslanlial W1ndbak thanks lo previous Wofk carried out by SIE. Rabbit holes continue lo be a serious problem even with a subsianlial culling. The South end goal has been reFaced. Harry's bench which overlooks the Playing field is in the Fyocess of being replaced by Simon Mack&nzi8 with hard wood and should be complete early in 2026. Gordon Urquhart Irom Ullapcy)I has accopled the job lo replace the pedestrian gato and fencing railings around the cattle grid at the entrance lo thè playing I1. This work will take place in January 2026. Once complele we Intend to replace the original Sign to the Playlng Field which Is dotached and damaged.
