The SCIO charitable purposes are for the advancement of citizenship and community development. The Village Hall is managed as a community asset providing recreational facilities and the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of village life, aiming to foster a strong community spirit. The Village Hall provides facilities for sports like badminton, squash, pilates, pickleball and karate. The Hall is used for meetings, Art Club, Xplorers Club, coffee mornings, lunches, book sales, birthday parties, Healthy Living Group, First Aid courses, First Responders, private events, Table Top sale, Tractor Run, Xmas Fair, Curry/Quiz night and music events. The Hall is also used by the Community Council and by the Local Council as a local polling station in elections.
