APPENDIX 1
Achievements and performance
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period |
Lorn toy library provided three stay and play sessions every week on a consistent basis, cancellations are low again compared with previous years. We continue to build our resilience in managing staffing issues. Attendance at sessions is building steady and increasing in consistency across the year, with the usual peaks and troughs associated with weather and holidays. Uptake of free snacks as introduced has been high and will continue. Our programme of service visits has been very well received and feedback from our member survey and NHS data demonstrates robust uptake of this support when it is consistently available. Toy hires to individuals and organisations in the form of large bundles and party hires has been prioritised to help to generate income from out with our regular/current member community. The introduction of the sling library has been warmly welcomed by the community, with steady uptake from families keen to try slings before committing to purchase. Communication Champion and Sleep Action training has been completed, enabling us to implement a programme of targeted support in 2026. This will provide early intervention for families in key areas of childhood development, helping to reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. Our members feedback for 2025 regarding their experience during stay and play sessions was very positive, both in terms of the quality of the toys and equipment available and the pricing. Fundraising and engagement at local events has been very successful, with a high level of support from our Committee and members; bingo night, Charities Day, Winter Festival installation, home-made stalls and a coffee morning, we’ve had a lot a fun along the way! |
