'the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science'

We are an Amateur Dramatic Company set up as a charity to provide members interested in all aspects of amateur dramatics to advance and nurture their talents. We take part in the Scottish Community Drama Association's annual One Act Play Festival to encourage our members to advance their acting skills in competition with other similar groups. They get professional feedback from Adjudicators which can aid in their approach to acting. We stage a Summer Production and our annual Pantomime to entertain the local community and these are always well received. We also encourage our members to further their talents by providing bursaries for courses in any aspect of performing arts that they wish to do. We use monies received to purchase equipment to enhance our productions and to pay for costs incurred in these productions. The Committee/Trustees meet regularly to run the charity.

Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

Objectives: The principle object of the Ury Players is to promote amateur drama in the area of the Burgh of Stonehaven and surrounding districts. and to provide members with opportunities for dramatic work. The term· 'drama' will be deemed to include all forms of stage work, including the presentation of plays, operas, variety shows, concert parties, cabaret and the like, in all media, without restriction. The secondary objective of the Ury Players is to create a social group with wide interests in the general ream of artistic endeavour on the one hand and entertainment on the other, and the permissible activities of the Ury Players will be deemed to be on the widest possible scale, providing these are consistent with the amateur nature of the society.
