Linlithgow Heritage Trust operates Linlithgow Museum, a fully accredited, local, independent , volunteer led museum situated in the heart of the historic town of Linlithgow. It comprises three galleries featuring the story of the Royal Burgh, its history, trades and industries and life on the Loch. The fourth gallery is our Community Space used to mount temporary revolving exhibitions curated by local people and organisations. Children's activities themed around the objects and exhibitions are provided together with school visits, reminiscence sessions and events. With the exception of one part time member of staff, our volunteers fill many roles including front of house, collection care, education visits, events, and fund raising. The museum welcome over 6000 visitors a year from all over the world.

Objectives: The Trust’s purposes are to advance and promote the education of the general public, and in particular the inhabitants of the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, the Parish of Linlithgow, the Environs of the said Burgh and Parish and the links of the said Burgh and Parish, with other places wheresoever situate, without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating voluntary organisations, local authorities and other bodies of whatever status together with the inhabitants in a common effort to establish and maintain a Museum, to be called the Linlithgow Museum
