Wind and Walertighl. 11 wa5 agreed lo lille the project"Falth In Our Futur•. Prot•ctlng Our Past". To maintain the momelllum of the project, Session agreed lo make a further £250.000 of our resource5 available for the fundraising and prtspar810ry SLifv8y work required. A Business Plar) for the Kirk was prepared and Ihls lormgd the basis ol the Expressions ol Interest IEOII applications lo Iwo key funders, Historic Environm8nl Scotland IHESI and the National Lottery Heritage Fund INLHFI. 80th thesg EOI Applications were successful. and Sl John'5 was invited lo submit full applications lo both HES and NLHF. Work on preparing these Full Applications could not proceed wilhoul the apryoval of the owners ol the building. the General Trustees of Ihe Church of Scotland IGTsl. In October, Ihe GTS asked lo mèal wllh Ihe Tnjsl. Kirk Session and Pr8sbylery lo discuss what was proposed, and just before Christmas the GTS gave Ih8ir approval lo proceed with lundraising. Th15 therèfore is a primary iask fof Sl John's going into 2025. Once again. the movement of funds in 2024 were not typic81 due lo the efforis lo safeguard tho b￿ldIng. Thls continues lo make the comparison betsveen years mora difficult. The Retention from the 2023 work on the spire1£7,0291 fell due in 2024. the rsecessary svrvey work lo 18ke ihe Project lo RIBA Stage 2. an¢ the cost5 Involved in preparing funding applications were all necessary expendiluie and incurred a lurther £29,674 01 expenditure in 2024. Consequently, Session will conlinue in 2025 to make rts own resources available for both Mission and urgent repairs. Sl John's Is one ol the three City Centre Churches with Sl Mallhews and the North Church which are required by tho Presbytery Plan to work together lo prepare 8 City Centre Mission Plan. This is an ongoing task. which the 3 churches are working on tC￿ether. 11 is pleasing to report that the opening of the new Perth Museum in the spring of 2024 resulted In a 100. Increase in the number of Visitors compared to the previous year.

The assets and liabilities are given in the Balance Sheet on page 9. These financial slalemenls should be read in conjunction with the accounting policies and related notes which appear on pages 12 10 18. The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordanee with the relevant law, regulations. SORP 2019. The Charities and Trustee Investment Iscollandl Act 2005 and Charities Accounts (Scollandl Regulations 2006 las amended). The financial statements consolidalo the financial posrtion of all funds lo which the congregation has enlillement. The Trustees. whilst noting that measures have been taken lo reduce and control costs relating lo healing Ikepl lo a minimum in line with guidance on maintaining the fabric of the buildingl and lighting. remain concerned about ongoing increases in other operational costs. The regular donations from the Congregation via Standing Orders held up remarkably well, loi which the Session is very grateful. The inlroduclion of a donations button on the website and ol an online portal lor donations in the Kirk Ilhe Goodboxl have been a helpful development and will be ol even greater benèfit as visitor numbers grow in future. Inve•tmont Pollcy and Performanc• The Investments are managed by Ralhbone Investment Limited. George House. 50 George Square, Glasgow. G2 1 EH and are held in a nominee account. Rlsk Management The Trustees have overall responsibilily for systems procedure and control of the charity. Such systems can provide reasonablo, bul not absolute assurance against errors and fraud. Within this framewofk, the Trustees have assessed the major risks lo which the charity is exposed and they are satisfied that systems are in place to miligale the exposure lo major risks. The possibility of a lack of office-bearers remains a threat in the lulure. The congregation is an ageing congregation and this is also a threat. The Session has. with the help of our Fundraiser. developed a Business Plan for Sl John's for Ihe period 2025 - 2030. which centers around five strategic areas. W ATCH.. Worship, Arts and Culture, Tourism, Community, and Heritage. Delivery of the Business Plan includes plans to appoint a full-time Operations Manager in 2026 to support our current Structure.
