Artlvliles The Trust supports Suitable charitable organisations and causes, particularly the arts, in Kirriemuir and District. Applications are sought and considered on a bi-annual basis. The Trustees continue to make awards to those considered suitable, having regard to the overall objectives of the Trust. During the year £11,405 (2024 £5.900) in lotal was paid oul to successful applicants. Reserves The reserves of the Trust originate from the initial bequest. together with movement in the value of investments and accumulated income. The T￿SteeS have adopted a reserves policy that should ensure the continuing ability of the Trust to meet its objectives. The level of Un￿StrICted reserves held at 30 September 2025 was £248,907 {2024 £223,408). Future Plans During recent years, the administration costs of the Trust had increased and the income from investments ha5 remained static. To reduce costs and to safeguard the future of the Trust. the administration, which had traditionally been undertaken by Thomlons Law LLP, was taken in house during 2024. This has reduced the administration costs significantly, allowing more funds to be available to allow the Trust to meet the charitable purposes without depleting reserves. Independellt Examiner's Report to lh¢ Trustees of Joseph Alexander Trust I report on the account5 of the Charity for the period ended 30 September 2025 which are set out on pages I to6. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the ternis of the Charities and Trustees Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation l O(l} (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) {c) of the Act and to state whether particular mallers have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination is caLTied out in accordance with Regulation I l of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a Comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustee5 concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not exp￿SS an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
